GILLIAN CASTLE
A 44 year mother of 1 who has a permanent colostomy (stoma) due to a traumatic childbirth. In the past 12 years, she has recovered from her severe injuries, overcome PTSD and mental health problems to become the first person to swim the English Channel solo with a stoma.
BIO
From Triathlons, scuba diving to sky diving, they are all adventures Gill has undertaken since her traumatic experience. In 2022, Gill established her own charity, Chameleon Buddies, which supports women in the UK and Kenya to adjust to life after stoma surgery or birth trauma. She is a passionate advocate for positive actions after trauma.Â
